Securing the Future: Post-Quantum FHE for Zero-Footprint Intelligence

Post-Quantum FHE for Zero-Footprint Intelligence

Protecting data today and decades into the future

Quantum computing promises revolutionary advances. But it also poses one of the greatest threats modern cryptography has ever faced.

When quantum computers reach sufficient scale, they’ll be able to break widely used public-key algorithms,  exposing data that was once considered secure.

For governments and intelligence organizations, that future isn’t an abstract concern.

Adversaries are already harvesting encrypted data today, with the intent to decrypt it later once quantum capabilities mature. That means the risk isn’t sometime in the 2030s, it’s happening now.

At Duality, we’re addressing that head-on. Our platform integrates post-quantum cryptography (PQC) directly into Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE) creating a foundation for quantum-resilient confidential computing that keeps sensitive data protected not just now, but for decades to come.

The Quantum Threat Is Already Here

Traditional encryption schemes such as RSA and ECC are strong against classical computers, but not quantum ones.

A sufficiently powerful quantum machine could use Shor’s algorithm to derive private keys from public information, rendering decades of encrypted archives suddenly transparent.

That’s why “wait until quantum arrives” is the wrong approach. Data stolen today can be decrypted tomorrow. The only defense is to encrypt now with algorithms designed to survive the quantum era.

This “harvest-now, decrypt-later” strategy isn’t hypothetical. Nation-state adversaries are already exfiltrating data from critical systems, banking on future decryption. The only way to close that window is to adopt post-quantum encryption today.

Duality’s Answer: Post-Quantum FHE

Duality is one of the only companies in the world to operationalize post-quantum protection within an FHE framework, securing data both in transit and in use.

Here’s how it works:

  • On the analysis side, the query is encrypted by FHE using a public key
  • The encrypted query is sent to the data owner side
  • An FHE computation is running on the data owner side
  • The encrypted result is sent back to the inquirer (i.e. the analyst side)
  • The result is decrypted by the inquirer who has the FHE private key

The result is a quantum-resistant communication channel for encrypted computation backed by FHE.

Zero-Footprint Intelligence: Protecting What You Look For

Across government use cases, this technology enables what we call Zero-Footprint Intelligence, the ability to run encrypted queries on external or open datasets without revealing what you’re looking for.

Whether analyzing publicly available data or collaborating with partners across jurisdictions, agencies can use Duality’s FHE-based architecture to keep investigative intent and sensitive metadata completely private.

No target names. No query leakage.

And because Duality’s implementation is post-quantum by design, even if those encrypted sessions were intercepted and stored, the underlying secrets would remain secure against future quantum decryption.

Why Act Now, Not Later

The global race toward quantum computing is accelerating. Governments and enterprises can’t predict when quantum decryption will become practical, but they can make sure it doesn’t matter.

By adopting post-quantum FHE, organizations gain long-term assurance that encrypted data remains confidential even if intercepted and stored.

This isn’t about reacting to a hypothetical future. It’s about securing the data lifecycle now, before quantum computing turns today’s encryption into tomorrow’s vulnerability.

Future-Proof Confidential AI

Duality’s work in post-quantum FHE extends beyond secure government analytics. It lays the groundwork for Confidential AI that can withstand next-generation cryptographic threats.

From secure model training and inference to federated data collaboration, every operation inside the Duality Platform now benefits from a quantum-safe foundation.

That’s not marketing; it’s mathematics and it’s already operational.

Building the Quantum-Safe Future

At Duality, we believe trust shouldn’t have an expiration date.

By using post-quantum FHE cryptography, we’re ensuring that data protected today stays protected, no matter what breakthroughs the future brings.
